Diwali- one of the most popular festivals in the country that is celebrated between October 15 and November 15. Diwali is also known as the festival of lights as it is highlighted with homes illuminated with garlands of lit candle or oil lamps with scenic fireworks. This major Hindu holiday runs for five days in which it is observed by Hinduism, Sikhism, Buddhism and Jainism religions. Rath Yatra- held in July, Rath Yatra is a monumental festival commemorating the journey of Lord Jagannath. This major Hindu festival is held at Puri in the state of Orissa. Every year it draws hundreds of thousands of local and foreign tourists across the globe to participate in this one of a kind event in the country. During this festival, there will be richly ornamented chariots akin to temple structures. This festival remains one of the most spectacular and enthralling events that every visitor would likely to witness. Janmashtami Festival- on the 8th day of the dark fortnight in the Hindu month around July-August one of the most famous fantastic revelries is held in the country- the Janmashtami Festival. It is also known as Krishna Paksh in which it is held in honor of the birth of Lord Krishna, the black God and most significant incarnation of Vishnu. Konark Dance Festival- this five-day long celebration is conceived as a festival of classical dances of India which aims to promote Konark and Orrisa as a place to enjoy and escape from the hustle and bustle of modern living.
